You exist as a self. Clear, concise, simple. You are an individual, existing as the culmination of all thought, experience, and interaction with one's environment.

Unless you were referring to a mental sense of self? Well, you are stuck with that one too. As long as we perceive reality through our lens, regardless of how obstructed or crystal-clear that lens is, we sense ourself, the act of which is presence.

So perhaps you were speaking of a preconceived, obstructive sense of self, one which limits one's direct perceptions of reality, limits the awareness involved in one's present experience, and restricts one's conscious ability to manifest form from the great ocean of the unmanifested formless.

If this is what you strive to deny, as you have stated, then, at the very least, it is a more beneficial goal. Nevertheless, the nature of such a change is that it is a conscious decision, a choice - not a struggle, an attempt to try and strain very hard, as such is always in vain, counter-productive, futile.

First and foremost, one should concern oneself with the act of reclaiming one's direct perception and experience of reality, the behavior of truly experiencing the self. Then it will not be an issue of giving or receiving, or an amount therein; it will be as it naturally and inevitably is, and there is absolutely nothing wrong with that.

But to reclaim the gifts I have given others?  This does not interest me. 

Reclaimation is selfish.  I try very hard not to have a self, unless it is absolutely necessary.  Instead, I choose to have faith in others, for I know that they will eventually repay me, whether they choose to or not.  But I really like it when they choose of their own free will to repay me.  This brings tears of joy to my eyes. 

for in giving me that which is measurable, they have gained imeasurably.  And the thing I like to see most is a winner.  Someone who has achieved their gains. 

so the basic point of this post is quite simple:

The fact that you derive an identity from anything at all confirms that your mind is engaged with a sense of self.

Form is form, within the context of the formless manifesting as form or not. The possibillities are near endless, and yet to state that form is not form is to negate oneself and reality.

Such only leads to trouble. I think it is time for us to effectively, beneficially materialize.
