FAE for Myc Growth on WBS
    #5646939 - 05/18/06 04:20 PM (17 years, 8 months ago)

I have about ten or so jars of WBS. Each has two 5/32" holes drilled; one for injection and one for gas exchange, both covered with micropore. After innoc I immediately cover that spot with another bit of micropore, making it a double layer on one of the holes. I then use tvek as a dust cover. Then I place those jars in an Igloo container.

So my question is...

How important is FAE/GE to colonizing WBS? The jars have adequate GE (Gas Exchange) but will putting them into a sealed Igloo kind of kill GE?

If you had the igloo completely full of jars it could be a problem. In that case, just fan it out once a day. Otherwise, colonizing jars do not require fae. They only need a small amount of gas exchange.

Excellent. Thanks for the advice. I'm just trying to figure out wtf is wrong with my jars. Not a lick of growth in any of my legacy jars (3 weeks since innoc) or my second attempt (7 days since innoc). Not even in the LCs.

All jars are also free from contams and all jars appear to have excellent-to-ok moisture content.

I'm stumped.

I love his sig as well and we got our stuff around the same time and I am doing pf method and LC. I have growth in all now. Contact them Splif and see about getting a new one, you should have seen something by now and I know that you know your stuff.

Hey, thanks for the rating bump, Dr_Mcgillicuddy. The war on drugs makes me nuts. If it had any integrity whatsoever, cigarettes and alcohol would be on the list too. As Bill Hicks said (paraphrased), "it's the war on some drugs."

Psilocybin and cannabis are just substances without deep lobbying pockets.

kilroy, I did drop them a line and they're fixing it. Hopefully third time is a charm.
