Incubator help

I built an incubator the other day. Its just a simple plastic grape juice bottle with an aquarium heater in it, all set in a box covered by a thick beach towel. The heater has an ajustable temp on it and Im still trying to figure out how to get it to the precise temp i want it... 83 degrees or so.

My question is.. what is the max temp I could have before seriously stunting the growth of the mycelium. Right now its at about 87 degrees in there and Im going to continue to fine tune it to get it closer, but I would like to know what would fuck the growth.

Another question... is it wrong to set jars on top of eachother? Its a small box (one of those Staples boxes for paper or something) so im not sure more than a dozen jars will fit... I may jerry-rig a shelf...

87 degrees.....and probably 89 degrees inside the jars .

need to get the temp down....too high.... stall or death to the spores...Thermal death is 106 or 107 degrees.

too low.... stall or really slow colonization.

83 is perfect.

Yes you can stack the jars on top of each other.

right on...thanks. damn that was fast too....
tonight im gonna do some jars... while im waiting for them to sterilize and cool im gonna try to get the temp down... i lowered it this morning so when i get home hopefully it will be down to the correct temp... or at least closer
