-------------------- Getting the most out of your casings!, A pinning strategy. Oyster Shell "Flour" $2 for 1lb. a hell of a deal Not what is overlay but rather what overlay is Gas Exchange vs. FAE "We all have priorities. I used a closet once setup a nice little lab trouble was all the shit that was in there ended up in the bedroom that pissed off the GF then I ended up dumping her as she was getting in the way of my sterile culture technique! Ya I got priorities too!!!"

Yes! its about time someone pointed it this out. This makes the most sense of all. I thought the same thing myself. After reading these 2 argue which is the the culprit for the fuzz, I concluded that it was both that mattered, makes sense. I'm a first timer but I can even come up with a logical theory such as this one. Not trying to bring anyone down but remember..OPEN MINDEDNESS. You could all be right. Too much humidity would cause the dense air in the chamber to make the co2 to buildup more and stay at the bottom of the FC, which is where most of the fuzz grows.
I was having this problem recently with FC fuzz growth. But now I know what to do. Since I'm using the perlite method, I would say I will improve the FC by drilling more holes near the bottom, closer to the perlite, so there is more FAE and thus, keeping the co2 levels lower. I think I have too much humidity as well because my hygrometer does not show above 99% unfortunately. Did not drill holes on lid but now seems like a good idea. Got like 40 Shrooms growing on each of my 4 cakes. Sweetness!

Old thread is old.
Also, CO2 does not settle out of air. But more holes is more better.

I had a mushroom that was attached to the cake by a section of fuzz, and the weird thing was the 'fuzz stem' was much more narrow than the actual stem. I wish I would have gotten a picture, it was bizzare looking.
