Bush's best moment in office? Reeling in big perch When asked to name the highlight of the presidency, Carter said it was the Camp David Peace Accords, Clinton said it was ending the war in the Balkins, Bush....
Quote:
BERLIN (Reuters) - President Bush told a German newspaper his best moment in more than five years in office was catching a big perch in his own lake.
"You know, I've experienced many great moments and it's hard to name the best," Bush told weekly Bild am Sonntag when asked about his high point since becoming president in January 2001.
"I would say the best moment of all was when I caught a 7.5 pound perch in my lake," he told the newspaper in an interview published on Sunday.

Oh Bushy boy...I'm surprised his worst moment wasn't choking on that pretzel.

IMHO, his best moment was when he tried to use the saying about getting fooled. Now that was hilarious.

Those were hard-on inducing days , were they not. Those were the days, my friend, we thought they'd never end. We'd sing and dance.....When people cite his low poll numbers most of them have no idea that it's because he is perceived as having sold out the Conservatives who got him elected. We have a 3 party system. Left, Right, Don't Know. The Don't Knows are winning. And by Don't Knows I mean the vast amounts of inattentive and unthoughtful morons who, thankfully, don't vote much but are nonetheless polled on an equal basis by media outlets whose only (at best) stake is to create sensation.

That would make Bush's catch the biggest perch in recorded history, nearly twice as big as the former number one:
"Last weekend, Phil Deer, Jr. of Delta, Pennsylvania caught a record setting yellow perch in a pond in Harford County. The perch is the largest ever caught in Maryland and the fourth largest on record in the world. DNR confirmed the perch’s size as 3 pounds, 5 ounces and 16 ¼ inches long, which eclipsed the Maryland record of 2 pounds 6.75 ounces set at Deep Creek Lake in 2003. Worldwide, Deer’s fish places behind a 4 pound, 3 ounce perch caught in New Jersey in 1865; a 3 pound, 12 ounce perch caught in Michigan in 1947; and a 3 pound, 8 ounce perch caught in New York in 1982. All records are for the fresh water division"

Ha, you sorry haters bought into the crap about bush lying about the fish hook, line, and sinker. I dont understand why, when Bush says something completely retarded and makes himself look bad, people have to go and try to make him look even worse and usually end up making themselves look contrived and stupid. This is why i end up defending Bush more than I'd like to and it annoys the heck out of me.
There is more than one kind of perch. There is even a type of perch that can grow to be 440 lbs. Do a little research next time.

Of the three types of perch I'm aware of, only one is found in the United States, the yellow perch, which would make Bush's catch the largest recorded of that type. I'm not saying he's lying, everyone can draw their own conclusions.
Who knows?
Maybe the pond is where they've been dumping the leftover depleted uranium from the Iraq war?

Typical Reuters loose shit. Bush didn't say "perch", he said "large mouth bass".
Ah the MSM, with it's "multiple layers of editors and fact-checkers". What would we do without them?
