Possible Amanita Muscaria var formosa?

I went for a bike ride in my favorite park in the Piedmont region of NC this morning. I was doing a bit of casual mushroom hunting/tick collecting when I spotted the first carpophore. A fawn mushroom down by a creek.
Ironically fifteen feet away I found this starving fawn not much larger than a football. He was so weak that I could touch him and he didnt even lift his head. I would have tried to help but I have bad luck with attemting to remove wild life from this park. Not to mention I was a little too stoned to go tell a ranger about it. Oh well foxes gotta eat too.
Right after that I stumbled across this rotting sea food smell. I look down and sure enough some kind of stink horn is popping up from a log.
Last but not least I found what I believe to be the soma (amanita muscaria). I usually stick to the psilocybes but I am very curious to try muscarine at least once. I hand watered it from the creak as I have read that the larger ones are higher in muscarine and lower in ibotenic acid. I'll pic it in a couple days if you guys agree on the ID. Any EXPERIENCED opinions would be appreciated. I will spore print it in a couple of days when the soma is ready.

#1 appears to be a Pluteus.
Cool picture of the baby deer.
The last one could be an Amanita, but doesn't look Muscaria. Here is a page that I made on Muscaria var. formosa: http://www.shroomery.org/wiki/pmwiki.php/Hunting/AmanitaMuscariaVarFormosa
Carefully dig up the bases of the stems of amanitas, this helps ID to section or species sometimes. We need to see what the veil (if there are signs of any) looks like.

I don't think the Fawn was starving. It looks like its in good shape. If starving you would see its back bone and ribs. Mom probably stuck her there and told her not to move. They will NOT move tell mom gets back. You would be able to pick it right up and it would stay calm. But Mother Dear as just like a Mother bird. If she returns from foraging and she smells Human sent on her fawn she will most likely abandon it. Just the way of the woods...
Nice photos! I will tell you I sure wish I could sneak up on a fawn under cover! It must have made your heart pound....

Symptoms Apparently little has been documented on this specific species but it is expected to produce symptoms similar to other Amanita species: nausea, vomiting, dizziness, abdominal pains, etc. Symptoms occur 30 minutes to several hours after ingesting.

Actually, I'm not sure thats true about birds.
The RSPB (Royal Society For The Protection Of Birds) told me that birds do not have any sense of smell!

At the risk of straying off topic:
Indeed most birds have little to no sense of smell. And they will virtually never abandon their babies. I have put many a baby bird back into its nest and watched the mother return to feed it.
I agree with Yessup that the fawn looks healthy. And they will stay super still when they are that age. The mother probably was watching you from a distance, and returned when you left.
Great pics. Very cool Amanita flavoconia. I've seen a few of them recently myself and got real excited at first.

Absolutly do not eat that Amanita! "IT IS NOT A Amanita Muscaria" Also you should have snaged that fawn and toom him hove to drink some warm milk. After a little milk you should switch him over to grains and apples. Then when hes old enough to release you can do so.
