well the hbwr, morning glory, and rivea corymbosa say they are meant to get full sun. however mine has a little bleaching of the leaves and yellowing. i did fertilize a few days ago but the leaves wont green. on overcast days they seem to be happy but once the sun comes out they just dont seem to handle it. anyone else ever have these problems. will they adapt eventually to the intense sun?

my r.corymbosa are getting bleached spots too. I raised them indoors by seed, under a basic 28W flouro. they were dark green. put them outside and they bleach white spots. I also have to move them into the shade half the day to recover from the first few hours of sun. otherwise they wilt and im afraid of losing them. I think over time with more and more exposure, they will be able to handle it. try putting them in an area where its sunny for a few hours, then shady for a few, then sunny again for a few. I usualy put something in the way of the sun for a certain amount of hours during late-day when the suns the most intense.

They like full sun after they are grown. Seedlings and young plants don't like it so much.

I have one rivea corymbosa with 4 or 5 fairly large leafs, and I had just recently put it outside after being under a basic 28W house flouro. it grew 5 large leafs in 3 weeks, and then when I put it outside it bleached most of them white. I also just fixed it to have alot of dark periods during the day, so it gets sun for only little bursts of 30 minutes or so. It's starting to look healthier.

well i decided to leave mine in full sun because i have lagochillus inebriens in the same pot. still sunburned leaves but they seem to be growing(hbwr, morning glory, &rivea corymbosa). the rieva still has grown much but doesnt show any sunburn. temps at night have still been between 40F - 55F but they seem to be taking it fine. well if i leave them in full sun i guess they will either die or adjust. guess im a mean bastard.

I've got the same problem with my hbwr(about 8 inches tall and probably 5 months old), but my morning glories do fine. So, I moved my Hbwr plant to where it gets shade about half the day. It's doing great now, but its true they grow ssssllllloooowwww.
