My Meditation

I have talked a lot about meditation so I decided to share my form of meditation. It is an unconventional meditation, but it works well for me.
I started reading about "how to meditate" and, for the most part, it just takes finding a comfortable position and focusing your attention on breathing.
When I first started meditating I was doing a VERY physical job. Every day I would come home sore and stiff. Soaking in a hot bath weekly was necessary, so I decided to incorporate meditating into my weekly soaks.
First I light some scented candles in the bathroom, and put my stereo player in the room ,near the tub with some easy music. (Pink Floyd or Pure Moods....anything that is nice and mellow)
Then, I run a tub half full with warm water. I get the biggest pot I have and fill it with cold water and set it on the stove to boil. (I have a small water heater and can't get the water hot enuf with out some assistance. Boiling a big pot of water gives me a good hot tub to start with and lets my water heater heat back up.)
Once the water is boiling I add it to the tub of warm water, start the music, get in the tub and begin filling it the rest of the way up with hot water. The water needs to be VERY hot. Almost TOO hot.
Once the tub is full I turn off the water and begin my meditation.
It is simple. So simple it is almost hard to do.
Just focus on getting the most out of each breath. Not taking super deep breaths, not trying to breath just allowing your lungs to "do their thing" letting them take in as much or as little air as they want.
After a while I will begin to yawn, just let it happen.
When I feel the time is right I slowly sink from a seated position to a laying position.
This takes time, don't rush it. Slowly let your body sink into the hot water. Don't go from seated to laying in one step. Gradually let yourself sink into the water until your legs are resting on the sides of the tub and your torso is completely submerged in the water. Even your ears. The only thing that is out of the water is your face and legs.
Continue to focus on your breathing.
Any random thoughts that come up...just acknowledge them, let them pass, and continue to focus on your breath.
I can achieve a very deep state of meditation with this practice.
The main thing about meditation is to understand the basics and then find your own path.
This form of meditation is not found in any book that I am aware of, it's just something I put together that works for me.

Nothing has worked for me so far. Not that many tries either, but sometimes I'd stay still and sitting comfortably concentrating on my breathing for one hour or so and not meditate. Maybe I need some, uh, say, enlightment.

The first few tries were not that impressive for me either.
It takes practice......about 5-6 attempts in a month, before I was able to "get it"
Once you "get there" it is easier to do. Kinda like riding a bike.
Still, even now, I have trouble at times clearing my thoughts and focusing on breathing.
Just keep trying.
It is WELL worth the effort.

You've always done by yourself? Do you go somewhere? To practice yoga or something.
