Actually yeah that's an interesting point. Fear in itself is not inherently bad. In fact it has its place in the jungle and in survival situations. It's the fear and dislike of being afraid that gets people.

kurtz - apocalypse now - used "the horror" to keep himself oriented to totality like a continuous pinching or a flowing of self expression and guts.
his skin became very thick by this abuse.
some feel they must immerse in it, I think you should just be aware of it.

I just saw the movie for the first time a week or two ago, and that's not what I got out of it at all. It's a very interesting interpretation though, how did you arrive at it?
