Newbie: Best places/when to look?

I'm in Macon, Georgia, and I'm totally new to hunting. None of my friends are into it, so I'm trying to learn as much as I can by myself... I had a couple questions I was hoping someone here might be able to help me out on...
Are cow pastures neccessarily the best place to look? I'm hoping there might be some more discrete options (trails, yards, etc)? There's a lot of un-fenced, normal grassy fields around here (but no cattle)... would these be decent places to look?
Also, what months should I start looking? And how long after a rain should I wait before hunting?
Thanks in advance! Jason

well if i was in GA, id look with youy. im also new at this. from my limited experience, you should look immediately after and up to 6 days after a rain. where you look depends if you want Psylocibe mushies or not. id look in the forests if you have any around, but if not, then go for gardens and such. only a few grow in grass.
good luck!

I would tell you in front of a police station but I don't want that kind of responsibility. I think that if you search the post history with keywords or hang around this forum enough, some of your questions will be answered. At least the ones about mushroom hunting.

Try reading the guides that are all over this sight for tips on mushroom hunting. They will get you looking in the correct places, during the right weather.
PS. Dont let your friends get you down! They'll be sorry when you find a source of free shrooms, and you dont share any! jk

This thread has been closed.
Reason: Welcome to the shroomery!
Please take some time to look over the rules post, as well as doing some searches. You should be able to find answers to your questions via search posts. I've seen all of this covered in here before.
