Tennstud Lifespan? Hmmmm...

So, I'm a neglectful bastard. Here's the rundown:
Around midterms this past semester I abandoned my grow project in the incubation stages in favor of studying my ass off. The cool temperatures where I live managed to keep the mycelium in a very slow stage of growth up until today, when I discovered upon moving out of my apartment that I have six perfectly good viable jars I now have the time to fruit! I also have about twenty pounds or so of Tennstud verm/poo mix lying here. It's still in its original packaging, never even been exposed to sunlight, but it was sent to me in early Feb.
Can it still be good? Should I do a squeeze test, or is it too risky contaminate-wise? I could do an outdoor guerrilla grow with the jars, so its not big deal really, just would like a wise man's opinion on the matter. Waste not, want not, right? Even when it comes to poo.

just re-pasteurize your poo mixture and spawn the cakes to the poo.
I would give it a go inside and rock it out.

I bet it will be fine.

I don't know how many times a week this exact questions is asked. This is why I ALWAYS recommend buying DRY manure... it just stores so easy. And pasteurization is a peice of cake. Microwave pasteurization works great in small quantities and larger quantities oven bags work great and keep things clean. And why pay to ship water...

I just used an 8 month old bag of moistened, pre-pasteurized tenn stud that was given to me by another member of the board here. It smelled just fine when I opened the bag, which surprised me actually.
After much experimentation, I've come to the conclusion there really isn't such a thing as 'microwave pasteurization'. The entire idea with pasteurization is to allow the beneficial bacteria to survive while killing off the mold spores. This requires a temperature of 140F to 170F for an hour to make sure the molds have been neutralized. If you go hotter than that, you begin to kill off the beneficial bacteria as well. The microwave teks I've read on the boards call for several minutes in the microwave, followed by a rest, then several more minutes. When I do this, the material heats up way beyond the 140F to 170F. It seems to me this is more of a partial sterlization than actual pasteurization, which needs to be done at much lower temps. There seems to be a lot of folks using this method, so obviously it works to grow mushrooms. RR

This is my method RR and it has been working for me.
The small trays I fruit from are the large glade storage containers (About 2L I think). I just fill it about 2/3 full with well moistened horse poo and place the lid on top with micro-pore covered holes. Then I give it a zap for 2 minutes then take it out give it a shake and let it sit for about 15 minutes. Then another 2 minutes, shake, sit, and repeat once more.
Once cooled I open the lid, squeeze off any of the extra water and mix in a pint of WBS spawn. Then I put the lid back on and place it into my incubator. I use the incubator because it's a small tray and my house has been really cold.
I have only done this about a half dozen times I usually do my pasteurization on stove top in a large pot of water. I was actually testing this method out for a friend who wanted to learn how to supply himself.
Now I don't know if this classifies of pasteurization or not but I treat it the same way.

My friend is using tenn studd pre pasterised from oct/nov and it seems to be working just fine. I had mine stored in a dark closet as well.

Yeah, I guess what I neglected to mention is that I'm way fucking lazy and am not interested in any kind of pasteurization process. Thanks for the responses, I'm just gonna go balls to the wall on this one and hope for the best.
