Im sure if you emailed them about this they would make good on it. Instead of posting a bad thread about them before even contacting them.

I don't think it was a bad move. Why should I contact them quietly and have them buy me off when they didn't deliver what was advertised. I think its important that people know what happened. I'm sure I could have contacted them and had them do something about it. And hell they still might contact me and point out something I missed and prove me wrong. I'm just putting out my first impression of the product I received.

It wouldn't be "buying" you off!! It would be correcting an error they made. So if you go to best buy and buy a 2000 dollar TV and it doesnt work when you get home, you gonna just go to best buy and stand in front of the store and say "I bought a 2000 dollar tv from here and it didn't work!!!" NO!! Your gonna take that som'bitch back and get a new one!

Boy, this sure isnt the kind of thing you like to come home to see!
I have received, and responded to jacc1234's pm and am awaiting his response. Very simple misunderstanding, about jar lids and casing mix.
Thanks to everyone who vouched for us, you guys know we care about this community. I mean, we're a part of it, too!

MudShark, would you send someone a pack of presterilized quart jars with no holes in the lid for filter and inoc point holes?

Im not sure I understand the question? We state on our site that we only puncture jar lids at the customer's request, to ensure the jars reach you in the most sterile condition possible, so yes, i guess, we do ship jars without holes in them.
However, we also punch holes for anyone who wants them.
Am I missing something, automan?

no, ur not missing anything. just me being curious. nothing malicious or anything like that. just seems like in my experience that if someone wanted quart jars, they would need the 5/8" (or so) hole with filter disc to already be there if it were prepasteurized.
i mustve missed, too, where it said that filter holes would need to be requested by the customer. there have been many posts singing your praise. you are obviously a good vendor. maybe having this info somewhere more visibale on your site could head off problems like this one in the future (of which there have been very few.)
thanks for the response

Yes there was a bit of confusion on my end because i noticed that you can request holes for the pint jars and almost did for my order but after i read that they came with filter discs thought it was taken care of for the grain jars. It just tough for me to figure out the best way to make holes for air exchange. I think ill have to buy new lids make the holes and then sterelize them . Any other ideas would be great.

Oh, I see what your saying automan. I was confused. We include tyvek filters and coffee filters with our orders, so if you use the pf method of putting 4 holes in the lid, inoculate, then place the tyvek in between the ring and cap of the lid, you are good to go.
If we put the filters on first, then put holes in the lids, and sealed them up, two things would happen.
1- It would increase contamination risk during transport. 2- When you inoculate, you would puncture the already attached filter, rendering it useless.
We are going to be allowing the option to upgrade to plastic lids with self healing ports soon, and we will be sure to keep everyone posted when we do.
Thanks for all the kind words. We are here for you guys.
