Are you shure you have a good humidity gauge ? Perlite and water should raise the humidity up into the 90's. How much perilite and how much water is in your fruiting chamber ?

I don't know.... you got me stumped. Is the perilite too dry ? Is the perilite too wet ? Are you shure the top of the fruiting chamber has a tight seal ? Do you have cords going into the fruiting chamber so the cover isn't tight ? .....I'm trying.....help me out guys....lolz

Dig a hole in the perlite and see how deep the water is standing. Should be about an inch.

>has it in a 85f chamber with his jars If the cakes are still colonizing in jars, than you don?t need that high humidity at all. 50-70%RH is ok for this phase. If the cakes are already birthed, then your temperature is way to high. It should be from 70-75 in that case. So either ways, something isn?t right here. Read the FAQ.

Is it really necessary to have the humidity controlled for jar colonization? I usually just put them in a box and pile them up. The humidity in my room is about 30 which is fairly low, but my space heater pulls away the ambient water.
