What is this... PICTURES INCLUDED...

Here are some pic that were found on the street...
What does this look like? It's blue in bluish aqua in color. They are mazatec cakes, the PF TEK was used.

The first one doesn't look like bruising for me. Does it grow ? Any clue ? What have you done to your cakes that could have produced bruising ?

A magazine article stated...

"Well, these cakes were taken out of their jars before they were fully done (a bad thing, yes, yes this is known...) anyways, the humidity was kept too high and that's why the mycelium looks like it's "reaching" up. But, the blue stuff, is it normal?!?!?"

It took a while to get like that and there are NO odd smells...

If it is a contam it wouldn't smell a thing from such a small spot, also contams doesn't allways smell.
I think Anno is just saying to consider the possibility.

looks like a small mold colony.

btw, mold doesnt have too much of a recognizable smell, especially in small quantities. bacterial contaminants are the only contam that is first noticeable by smell.

thats true about yeasts, and many molds have a smell, but you can almost always see the signs of contam before you would smell them.
