Experienced Growers Please Read
    #5638403 - 05/16/06 04:58 PM (17 years, 8 months ago)

I have 7+ jars of colonized WBS. I am about to give you a list of the supplies that I have. Please tell me what I should do to get the largest
yield.

(I know to look at the Bulk Teks but i can never decide which one)

My Supplies:
5Lbs of Mycosupply Horse poo (Dried)
Unlimited amounts of straw
Oyster Shell
Coco Coir
Hydrated Lime
Vermiculite
Cool Mist Humidifier
3x Rubbermaids
Peat Moss

 Post back if you know what i should do, I was thinking mixing the horse poo with straw and doing a double tub...

What should my casing mix be if the double tub is what i use?

I will  you forever if you post back

I don't know why everybody is so case happy! vermiculite always gets embedded into the base of the stems making cleaning the harvest a pain. I have had great results using a mono tub without a casing layer. If your substrate dries out, dunking is always an option too.

Then again, Opinions are like assholes, everybody has one. this one just happens to be mine.

are they clear?normaly a 60 /40 verm coir will work. just sprinkle over top until all is covered. ofcourse i would pasturize that too and only use distilled water in ur straw, poo, and in ur cool mist.

there only so much i can write im assumuing u have read bulk teks and casing teks.

mr n is right if u use poo u don't have to case. although ur yeids will be higgher if you case. and u have a better chance of going to second and third flushes

yeah they are clear..

so if i mix the 5lbs of horse manure with straw

What straw to horse poo ratio should i use?

If i apply this to a double tub or a single tub...should i use the coolmist?

It says that no coolmist is necessary for a double tub but i am using straw and teh double tub tek only mentions using straight poo.

I don't think that 5 LBs of dried horse poo is enough for 7 qts of WBS in a double tub is it? probably not...

u don't have too. but i do. i think it goes faster. 1 quart to a gallon of poo or straw. i think the straw helps with potency and overall size of the flush

you will figure it out. once you start doing it. just get something that say 12 quarts or 1 gallon and measure like that. not in weight. becasue once you add water the weight changes.

Your best bet is to put that coir in your substrate mix and use that peat with your verm (50/50) add a little hydrated lime and the proper amount of oyster shell and use that (50/50+) to case your casing with. A casing layer will increase yields overall alot!

I have read the teks, you dont sound like an ass but...

I thought usually the coco coir was used as a casing not as a substrate.

Also, there is no specific tek that fallows a double tub that has mixed straw and HP.

Coir is better suited as a substrate rather than a casing (Fact), especially for new growers. Peats by far your best choice

You are right. It's usually used as a casing material. Incorrectly. Coir is a substrate. Casing with coir is like casing with manure. It doesn't make sense.

Talk to Hippie Chick about building a greenhouse if you want to grow big time. If you want a simple setup that produces well, but not enough for the whole town, check out a mono or double tub setup.
