I've been unable to find isopropyl alcohol anywhere (I've asked in pharmacies etc and they say they don't stock it cause of substance abuse ..bs) I asked the guy in one of the pharmacies what is the next best thing and he reccomended sergical spirit...
will this do the trick?
or does anyone live in the uk and know where I'm able to obtain some isopropyl alcohol?
thanks

they don't have rubbing alcohol, wow that amazes me - what substance can you abuse isopropyl for, if you drink any you'll get VERY sick and possibly go blind? do you have grain spirits (95% ethyl alcohol) for sale over there? it's called everclear over here

surgical spirits are meant for sterilizing surfaces in the same exact way isopropyl is used. usually has additional anti-bacterial ingredients that makes it even better than isopropyl. you're just fine using it.

lysol is a spray-on disinfectant. its mostly ethanol based with some additional ingredients to kill viruses/bacteria/mold spores. (with most of those extra ingredients aimed at viruses... nice to keep humans from getting sick but aren't much a concern here anyway.) its actually quite similar to surgical spirits (which is also ethanol based), if you were to give the surgical spirits a nice fresh scent and put them into an aresol can you'd basically have lysol. you can use the surgical spirits in a spray bottle and achive the same results as using lysol. please exscuse the americans and their brand names.
