Victorian Hunting - I think these are Active? Help!!! ID!!!!
    #5636389 - 05/16/06 04:37 AM (17 years, 8 months ago)

I went for a walk and found these growing everywhere – differing in size from .2cms to 8 – 10cms in size. They are golden brown on top – colors fade to the edges. The gills are white in the real young ones and brownish in the older ones. Stem is thin; brownish like the rest (no blue bruising) the spore print is mocha – chocolate brown in color (a tad gray). They don’t seem to bruise because they’re a little dry. If I had to say – maybe they bruise a dark chocolate color. They have a very flat top; gills connect right to the stem.

Now, when my father saw the specimens I collected he thought at once they were Eculipta, Cupensis, Australiana or something of that sort – he was sure except for the lack of blue tinting and bruising. Compared to pictures – I would say they look the same except for blue tinting etc.

What do you say? Should I eat them up and expect a trip? Is there anything else they could be? There were fields of these – I could have collected easily 300.

Help me out guys!

Looking at the pictures I am unconvinced. Get a spore print. I would not eat them without further ID....

In reality, the gilling looks much lighter, but still a light brown - moca color.

It's easy to tell - don't get excited unless they bruise blue okay?

also when they dont contain any psychoactive chemicals at all....throw those away before you possibly poison yourself then do some research and keep looking
