Hi mycophiles! Stoked! Pretty sure these are active but have difficulty determining whether they are subs or something else..
a friend found these today (kudos kudos) in urban woodchip garden..still spore printing.. with flash:

without:

also found this single specimen in another woodchip garden yesterday, but it seems like a different species.. didn't bruise as much or as quickly as the above samples.. what's making me think its a different species is the lack of a distinct "nipple" like the above ones have.. also did a spore sprint, was purple..

can anyone distinguish between the two types or are they the same kind of mushroom?
also will they be ok if i just leave them on wax paper like this until tomorrow night or should i chuck them in the fridge or freezer to preserve? i haven't found reference to the shelf life of fresh mushrooms in the preserving tek FAQs

Fresh wood-loving psilocybes are pretty durable. They should be fine sitting out for a few days.

Hey mate, nice find.
Psilocybe subearuginosa you have there. Make sure they all bruise blue to ensure you haven't put some different mushrooms in with the pile. But looks good from what I can see. Can't wait to find some myself this season!
