the first few times i smoked it, it was great. i would laugh uncontrollably every time, and it was always a great few minutes. the last few times Ive smoked it (3 years later from when it was enjoyable) its more of a shamanistic like experience, where its usually uncomfortable as fuck while on it, but after i come down and "collect" my thoughts on the experience, I'm always glad Ive done it. but lately, i haven't been able to bring myself to smoke it(since the mush/salvia incident.

i can understand how one would have a negative reaction to salvia. Salvia is the only psychedelic that i've ever felt uncomfortable on. A few times i actually felt scared for no reason. i was in a perfectly safe environment for exploration, yet i felt threatened by my surroundings. A few other times i've had great experiences on it. Its kinda hit and miss with me i guess. But, alas i love psychedelics and currently have no access to more preferrable drugs like LSD or shrooms...as of now...so salvia will have to do for a while.

I remember thinking on salvia. Mushrooms are much better for me than salvia over all

my first time was very intense. i didn't expect what happened to me to happen. however, i've done it 6 or 7 more times since then and I can control it. i don't really see things, but i think my mind is in a dream state of some kind. it can be scary if you forget that you smoked it - that's what happened my first time. then i remembered and i calmed down. I find it a really great escape for a short period of time now.

Salvia has definitely blown my mind many a time
if living the entire lives of multiple people isn't enlightening, i dont know what is

To assume that everyone would react to it in a similar way is a little bold.
I'm not too interested in salvia, or at least not untill I've had some intense mushroom trips.
From what I hear, it's no drug for a first timer.

Think its good to have a few trips or more under your belt to even be able to get alot out of it. In particulare, for people who have never done any other hallucinogen, they seem to not notice much but light headedness. After having tripped so many times at high doses, I notice 1/4 of a hit of salvia leaf big time, Alone with some nice but unique visuals. I think If you can really trip off of it and enjoy contemplating something that you cant put into words as easily as with other hallucinogens, it great every time. There is no drug out there that has ever made me feel like there is a geometric, metaphysical insect like presence inside my body as it interacts with my external world(prickly feeling, but I wouldnt describe it that way at all). No drug has ever made visuals and tactile hallucinations fuse in such an extreem way for me. They often will poor out of my heart(chest/lungs), and those energies seem to be playing a game of tug a war with my external surroundings. What ever that is(I have my theories), it is most palpable with salvia. During my experiences as far as cognition goes, its less interesting than any other hallucinogen(for me) and reminds me of instant ego loss or selflessness, which creates a blank slate where only truely altered metaphysical properties and the primal logos are present. No words, just feeling and interpretation.
So in short, thats how I feel about salvia. It is a very strange tool. Best when used by people who are really into hallucinogens(and have used many), science, and spirituality.
I would never need to use anything more than 15x. I have found that besides adding longevity to the experience, thats as far as it goes.

I was amazed - I had many experiences all at once, yet miraculously I obtained my notebook from my nearly invisible night table drawer and began to write in isolated clauses to help remember astonishing visions, earthshattering insights, astounding apprehensions of plastic noodle elves and beings and worlds, all at once. but later when I read the drivel, the half sentences and and wierd grammar held nothing in the least resembling this. as if only the mere-est fringe of some lower garment of an angel had remained after snagging on a barb of a rosebush, after the visit.
this has happened hundreds of times with me. nearly every time I get a notebook, often I start with the date before lighting the pipe, sometimes I just ignore any effort to take souvenirs. seldom is anything written that can help show the face of this experience. a few times I have gone through the notebooks after the fact and have decided that one day I will use some sticky post-it notes and then scan the best ones and create a collection that might help to suggest at least a shadow of this highly ornate complexity.

For me - I've never experienced anything more astonishing, real and liberating. I think that Salvia don't allow just anybody to her world. Some need to prepare themselves. That worked for me.

I've tried salvia many times under different states of mind. I'm very light headed with it and every time it blows me away. I pretty much just end up freaking myself out everytime. There's always some fucked up looking carttoon wanting to kill me or some other crazy repetitive geometrical bullshit going on. Not enlightening whatsoever. In fact, it's nothing but annoying.
So I say screw sage.

i forgot to add, my honest opinion is that salvia is something that you are greatly missing out on, if youve never really "tripped" from it. it like one of those things you may only do once or twice, but i can almost guarentee that you wont regret trying it

Each time I use salvia I learn something new about micro- and macrokosmos. Maybe you're not ready to "let it go".

I've only used salvia two or three times, and it was several years back. There was the very slightest hint of psychedelia in there, variations on a theme or tracing concepts deeper and darker (not negatively) and downward...but otherwise, and in some respects also, the experience was entirely reminiscent of a good hit of nitrous. I'll be curious to try again sometime when I've good much more ideal surroundings.

It surprises me that so many different people in these forums have such a negative idea about Salvia. My first experience with Salvia was the most positive life changing experience I've ever had, and I will cherish it all my life. Salvia is a delicate, mysterious, strange, and extremely powerful teacher who requires respect and total dedication, but I assure you it is most definately worth it. Recreational potential is zero folks, sorry. Salvia demands interest in learning, not just having an experience. Please treat her with the respect she deserves.
