well we all know h2o2 can be added into grain substrates and agar but can h202 be used in a casing layer to minimize the chance of contams?

Sure, just spray it on the casing layer. It stunts the growth to some small extent and isn't terribly effective, but it helps a bit. Plenty of people use that method.
You'll get much better mileage out of identifying the source of your contams and correcting the problems leading to them rather than trying to use peroxide as an alternative to proper sterile technique.

Contaminants in a casing layer are caused by improper air exchange. There's no need for a chemical cure for that. RR

Surely not ALL contaminants in a casing layer are due to lack of air exchange? I figure cobweb and trick can deffinitely be cut down or eliminated with air exchange, but overly high humidity could still lead to them growing. Please enlighten me.

I agree with RR on this one. Poor fresh air exchange is almost always the reason for cobweb mold. As far as trichoderma harzianum (green mold), I have found that most problems occur from the substrate, not the casing layer.
This topic really belongs in our Contamination Forum. I'm moving it there now.
