do you?
    #563245 - 02/26/02 12:39 AM (22 years, 10 months ago)

social love is a mere fomality of a far greater picture.

think hard. you need to read things twice sometimes, sometimes three times, then think about them, and then try to understand.....

most of us, the vast majority, are stuck in step one. like when you drive around in first gear when you live in a city, in a hive of people.

heres a tale i just made up.
there was a wise man, sitting on a corner, throwing a stone high into the air. the stone would rise high up and on the apex of its ascent, it would turn, and tumble earthward at the exact
speed of a falling body in earths gravity.
each time this happened the man smiled wider, almost laughing. each time like a child playing with his father...
the breee blew his silver hair and the leaves blew fragrance from all the trees as they follwed his own passage of time from one second to the next in harmony.
all day he did this never becomming bored untill a fool approachd, this fool was nice to look at, well groomed, young and strong, ready for a world he could understand. ready to outsmart any man, beat any foe and rise to the top.
dashing and triumphant in stride, he approached the old wrinkled man. and asked what he was doing to b so happy by himself in the cold.
the old man caught the stone and looked at the fool with eyesof age and continued.
"i am playing catch with god"
the fool laughed, "ha! you are a religous man! i thought perhaps with age id find wisdom here today"

the old man sighed and looked sad, a bit forlorn and continued
"no, im not a religous person. i am old, i am alone, my children have grown and forgotten me. now i am alone to think for my autum years of the pride of my youth. i look back in sorrow, shame, joy, hope, and sometimes i just cant remember myself in it all. sometimes, im only here, now, playing catch with god"
the fool was getting tired of listening to this ritous talk and began to turn away. he felt like his time was somehow being wasted by this strange old man and he felt compelled to leave him to his crazy game of throwing a stone to himself, or god or whatever he said....
the fool paused and noticed the man was gone.
and in his own hand, in the hand of the fool, lay the stone.
the fool put the stone into his pocket and left with it.
he had to hide it from the world. because he knew what it was.
do you?

Well, it made me think of some things (not physical "things") but I guess I don't know what it was. Interesting, though.

pm me with what this story was about if you don't want to reveal it here, or don't pm me if you don't want to. Thought provoking. I wrote something that I think is along similar lines a week or two or three ago. I think I was going to work it into a larger project, but I think I've decided not to, so I think I could post it here if you were interested.

the only thing worth finding is hidden in plain sight.
look, then look again, then look three times.
if its the same each time, then look somewhere else.

ok, 3 times. THEN talk.
your question doesn't fit the answer.
some things cannot be told to you for they are too true
they must be spelled out peice by peace. syllabled out slowly till understood. you dont just FIND wisdom.
you dig anddig anddig and find nothing.
and then it hits you, bones to balls.
and if i told you, even if i tried. it would make no sence to you.
its not of your language, not of your learning, not of your parents (tho maybe of your grandparents)
i cannot be clear with such matters that werenever meant to be said.
except that i can warn you.
of a danger in yourself.
and a strength and beauty.
so many things. so precious. and so much peril.
do you really want to know? because i guarentee what you ask is more than you think youre gonna get.

While walking through a lost corrider in my mind tonight I saw a room

It had a white door

I opened the door and went through it

Melody, Harmony, Water, Fire, Synchronized

I saw it and understood

Doesn't it feel good to be the center of the Universe and a tiny part part of it at the same time?

Yes I said

I am the rock

stay with us willya? because where you go, you go alone, and you wont know it till you get there.
but if you needlogic, then the polar opposite of nothingness is existance. therefore to crave power to undermind reality and overpower cause and effect. you undo yourself.

do you know what a triangle is? i triangle is the first geometric shape.

it is the most structurally sound thing you can have.

any other geometric shape can be made out of a certain number of idetical triangles.

in the human mind, there are 3 important aspects of existance.

sence of self
sene of time
sence of physical boundries.

one must have all three, for one to be missing, there is no other two.

with this in mind, just how close did you come to yanking the side out of a triangle tonight and destroying yourself?

not getting it? how bout this.
when you wish to find something tha does not wish to be found. generally you start looking in he best hiding places.
when that thing is BIG,chances are its going to be hidden in plain sight.
and when you find it, youe going to feel real clever. real beautiful, real perfect. like a king, like a god.

you know who feel this way?
illgive you a hint. hes no god.
but he would like to be

Hahahaha! Beautiful! Magnificent!

These are the things I would have said had my sense of self not been torn asunder

I met Mr. Deception
He was funny but very serious at the same time
I laughed at him as we fell into the night
Letting the merrymaking overtake

And then I woke up

But then I realized to be no small undertaking, that he should not let happen what he thought should not be. To make everyone God, but at the same time would kill that God.
There can be only one

Maybe the rock reminds him of what he doesnt know, or his ignorance, some state of min dhe will never achieve? I dunno, thats not my point. I just wanted to say I was expecting another ending...I could just see him looking at the rock in his hand, saying "stupid rock" throwing it into the distance, and having god whip the rock right back at him in the face. Now that would have been funny! ha ha ha :[

I think the rock was the philosopher's stone.
Then that jackass (well-dressed right, so the fool was probably some aristocrat) realizes what it is and what it can do (in his case, it let him see god), so the bastard doesn't want anyone else to get their hands on his precious little mind-expander right..... Yeah, and he jailed anyone who tried to make their own philosopher's stone. And he made it illegal for anyone to sell it, buy it, or possess it. OR......

"any other geometric shape can be made out of a certain number of ideNtical triangles. "
I'm surprised no one responded to this with, "What about the circle? What about that!!!!" Glad too.

I think the "rock" represents Mitchnast's belief that he is somehow wiser than the rest of the people here. However instead of being kind and portraying this knowledge to all of the "little people" in a nice manner, he chooses to act like God and tell people that they "can never be right". The Buddha also taught through questions, yet he was never snooty about it.

Here is a thought for you:
A experienced gardner was always planting and nurturing many different species in her garden. She would water them and feed them when necessary. A rose bush stood in the corner. This bush was contantly surrounded by other plants.
The bush recieved the same treatment every day, yet would only produce one flower at any given time, and the rose would never bloom. This bewildered the "expert" gardener. She could not figure out why the rose would not bloom. She new everything about gardening, yet she never did get that single rose to bloom.
what does this lesson represent?????

to me, it means shits fucked up. Ever do anything text book perfect, and it was still wrong...some things there arnt answers for, you simple shrug it off as being fucked up, but the man behind things needs a reason for his reports. There had to be a scientific explenation he says. Damn the man!

The stone represents his life, he hides it because it represents his downfall, he has reached his "apex" and now there is no where to go but down... He knows that he will one day be the old man whom he laughed at, and that he too will one day be gone.
