pereskiopsis pest problem
    #5631068 - 05/15/06 01:26 AM (17 years, 8 months ago)

EDIT - oops wrong forum. can a mod move this to the ethnobotanical garden?

first of all this is a dodgy photo of a few of my cacti:

they are T. pachanoi, T. scopulicolous, T. bridgesii monstrose and of course my 2 little pereskiopsis, which are the latest additions to my garden. heres a photo of the damage:

at this rate it looks like in a couple weeks there will be no leaves left (if the photo is too crap i can brighten it up and alter the colours). any suggestions?

looks like slug & snail damage, get some pallets.. they eat trichocereus tips too so i'd sprinkle some slug bait around the base of everything

Theres a better chance thats cockroach or cricket damage.
It could have also come from bad handling, or a windy day that a tree branch whacked it.
But it'll survive, no worries, they are hardy cacti. Elevate it to a table or somewhere protected from bugs and the elements.
