I am using perlite for my humidifaction. I have some tin containers filled with poo colonizing right now. What should the height of the perlite be and how much standing water? Should there be any standing water? Its a 96 quart conatiner.

2 inches of perlite and no standing water. However, for cased manure in a tub or tote, you don't need perlite at all. The tray of manure/casing will provide enough humidity. Just mist and fan or otherwise provide for air exchange. RR

if its two inches of perlite and no standing water where does the humidity come from? Should I pre-soak the perlite? What would be the problem with 1 inch of water with h2o2?

when i said inch of water i meant under the perlite not 1 inch above the perlite so the perlite should soak it all, no standing water just moist perlite

perlite only works when its exposed to air. so if you have inchaes adn one inch standing water you only have 1 inch of perlite creating humidity for you. standing water is just another vector for contams unless you run a bubble want theres no need for it. also h202 only lasts a few days before it breaks down to o2 and water. its good after a aflush to drop in some gluga... make sure everything is clean. or just bake it and put back in.

There would be no problem with that at all but as RR said your casings will provide plenty of RH on their own when properly misted. I like the perlite as it stabilizes the FC's environment better maybe redundant but thats my personal preference with grow tubs. The perlite will only have so much surface area no matter what that 1" of water wicks up through that 1" of perlite just fine and works great IME. Soaked and drained perlite also works great.

The only problem with standing water, it may provide a medium to harbour contams. Although I have not experienced this as I use a little H2O2 as well.

In reality even moist perlite is a perfect environment for molds especially down deep (FACT) so we must see clearly here and pick which battles really make a difference, I've personally have used the standing water/h2o2 with perlite for many 7-8 flush runs with no contams before yield dropped to the point of wasting my time then they went OD. There are always going to be hearsays and whatifs take it all in then you yourself be the judge my friend.
