Finally broke down and went out and bought Kerr shoulder less canning jars. I hadn't used them b4 because i could only find them in one place and they wanted more than 1$ each. I don't have a car so it took me awhile to find a grocery that had them at real market value.
anyway I'm prepping them to be used as PF Tek jars and want to use silicone to create permanent self healing inoculation ports at the compass points. is there one particular silicone that is superior that can stand up to the constant poking and the pressure and heat from the sterilization process?
if there is a special way to so this please let me know, or if it really is just as easy as a small drop of silicone on all the injection points, well, so much the better.

Go to an auto store and ask for RTV high heat silicone sealant. Its by all the other glues and sealants but they will definately have it.
I almost made the mistake of using some other shit but this stuff is the way to go, or anything else that says high heat. GL

meh i audd caulking. it worked fine. anything that can be PC'd works. RTV shit from the auto parts store is popular. also they are lifetime lasting things they last say 30 injections but thats a lot then just put a new layer on to make sure they heal. could last more who knows you'll be able to see teh wear and judge for yourself when you need to firm it up.

shouldn't close up all your holes what about some air for you myc? on pf jars no holes should be covered at all thats why you have that dry layer of verm on top of your substrate. dont confuse grain teks with pf teks

^^^ Yes definately.
The dry verm is all you need, you want those holes open for oxygen.

actually i plan to cut a dime sized hole in top of jar lids and add a layer of tyvek to act as a filter for FEA
this seems safer as a second line of defence for the augment the vermiculite layer
