hey i have posted this question already in another forum but someone said to ask here for better answers. i have a peyote cactus that had a total of 6 heads. the largest is 4 inches, the second largrst is 2.5 inches wide, the last 3 range between 1.25-1.6 inches wide ( names the big labowski, shaft, huxley, don juan, and sid). me and two other mates want to trip, i know that this is not enough i can gte hold of more peyote mostly 5 cm wide plants. how much more would be needed for the tree of us to have a good trip? also to let you know that i am planning on saving the cactus by leaveing some of the largest botton left over so it can re grow. could i graft to another cactus after this was done or woudl havt tbe too much shock for the plant to take and does grafting incresses the mescaline produciton as well as growth? cheer

grafting doesnt increase mescaline production. in fact it produces normal ammounts relative to its age, not its sise. i think you have to root them at one point and then after say a year maybe it will have the correct ammount of mescaline for its sise... guys?
as for grafting a harvested cactus, the part you graft is the same part you eat...
wich leads me to wonder if say a 1yo seedling could regrow if you replant the bottem part...

i have been told if you leave 1cm of the plant above the root and do some other stuff the cactus will not die and will regrow. dont think i will bother grafting since there is no real point besides making it bigger and that takes up more room.

I've heard that it does increase mescaline production. However the button itself also grows a lot faster so the mescaline is not nearly as concentrated as in natural specimens.
