Layering instead of mixing (poo to poo superspawn)...

Not sure if anybody has tried this..
i just mixed 750 mL of colonized BRF to 4.5L of horse poo (1:6).
I am going to set the 4.5L colonized horse poo uniformly on top of 18L (instead of mixing it) to spawn again (1:4).
I do this because of the diffulty in breaking up colonized horse poo. yes the mycellium will have to REACH further to colonize compared to mixing it. The advantage of layering vs mixing is that its clean and fast. It can be done with little/no exposure to air + hands..
I avoided doing a Grain to grain superspawn because i like the anti-contaminant properties of the horse poo..
Is this layering a good way to go, or should i just go at the poo with a knife and stick to mixing?

wouldn't it make more sense to put the 18L on top of the already colonized 4.5L, instead of putting the colonized stuff on top and letting it grow downward? cuz then you would never know when it's 100% colonized and ready to fruit
or even put 9 uncolonized then the 4.5colonized in the middle, then the other 9 on top? or making lots of layers like 1.5col, 3un, 1.5col, 3un, 1.5col, 3un!

I think you should do what optx said 2ndly - 9 under and 9 on top - just my opinion though.
Good luck and keep the experimentation going, without it none of us would be here!

that would involve me slicing the colonized horse poo into layers... which would be even harder than breaking it up into small pieces..

Don't use manure as spawn. Spawn your brf or grains into the manure and fruit. If you want a bigger tray, grow out more spawn. RR
