I found these in the very top section of west virginia. Anyone have any idea what kind they are, and if they are worthy enough to eat?

Allright, I did so, and there was brownish peices of the gills, and a blue stain on the paper.

look very interesting.....need closer clearer close ups.....for a print you have to leave the cap gills down for quite a while sometimes till you get the print.....which is an ultra fine powder (spores).....sometimes over night or some very quikly spore print......cover em with a bowl or something......this helps
in the meantime do this.....

Making a spore print does not involve pressing, smashing, or otherwise smearing the mushroom on the paper. Check the faq for instructions. georgem

There is a good possibility of them being actives.
Take a spore print, read over the guidelines, and post some more info.
Check for bruising.

They all look like Psilocybe caerulipes to me, except for that big wore out one in the middle. I wouldn't eat that one even if it was Psilocybe caerulipes. If the spore prints turn out dark brown/purple your golden.
