I cased in clear containers.
    #562782 - 02/25/02 05:52 PM (15 years, 6 days ago)

I screwed up big time. Instead of getting those aluminum pans, I used tubberware.

They are growing out the sides of the casing and right around the casing soil. Very little growth is coming out of the case. It's been about 3 weeks since cased.

What should I do.

Thanks for the quick reply and looking up that thread. I did that.

I also found the SAMs has the aluminum containers for cheap. Grocery stores charge $2-3 each.

I will increase humidity to from around 90% to around 100%.

The slid right out and didn't give me any problems. I hope the ones growing upside down turn around.

as for the bottom.. well, your situation is different that mine.
i might even paint mine.

I don't like tin-foil trays. They work great in a pinch but they are flimsy and end up with holes in them from corrosion. I don't find the excuse that "they're cheap so just buy more" good either. Think about the environment please.

When I get a digi-cam I'll post a "how to make your own trays" using wood. They are far superior to anything you can buy because you can make them whatever dimensions you need and they are really just miniature versions of the commercially used trays. Plus you can paint them any colour to match your setup! They can even be fitted with brass hose fittings and plastic tubing which your substrate can be poured over top of and then cased as normal. Tubing is the way to go for liquid temperature control. Having total control over your substrate temperature is also a good way to go for those of you who are having troubles indoor cultivating more difficult species, ie Ps. Cyanescens.

Paint them to match? ahhhh? didnt realize it had to be pretty :P

You must protect your wood eh? or it would leave you open to mold?

I agree, those 8x8 tinfoil trays are flimsey and useless, but wood is bulky and expensive.

Right now i have some clear tupperwares..
i think i'll have to paint them, or use duct tape

If you are gonna paint them you will need to rough up the plastic using some sand paper to get the to paint stick. I find that tape is easier and works just as well.

There is a special primer paint, that makes the finish stick to plastics.

Anno, you should change the quote under your nick from "experimenter" to "I'll be back!"
