Found A Patch. Need verification please

I found a large patch of shrooms today! (I'm pretty sure) I live in the mountains of northwestern North Carolina. I've found plenty before and know what to look for, so I'm pretty sure but not 100% positive. I took pictures of them but I dont have the cord for the camera. But anyway, they look 100% like cubensis, and the spore print checks out. The only thing that throws me off is that when you rub the stem, there is no blueing. What's that mean? Sorry for no pictures. Thanks

Bluing is a sign of psilocybin/psilocin that is present in the mushroom. It is one of the indicator if it is an active mushroom.

sounds to me like you picked an inactive species of stropharia, I highly doubt cubes will be growing off pine needles in the mountains of North Carolina.

I don't think cubes grow at all in the mountains, especially in the middle of May. Pine needles are an incredibly unlikely spot for cubensis to grow as well. The lack of bluing pretty much seals the deal.
Please don't eat the mushrooms you found - they are virtually certainly NOT P. cubensis (or any other active for that matter). Sound like some cool looking mushrooms though, would be great to see pics. In the absence of those, perhaps you can describe the mushroom in more detail. Color, size, gill color and attachment, presence or absence of ring on the stem, color, spore print color etc.
Good luck.

Cubes grow from the SHIT of cows and other large grazing animals. You did not find cubes. They might be lepiota or another type of stropharia.

Doesn't sound like it fits the description of an active - as others mentioned.

Hey, I think I have found something similar to what your talking about. It looks identical to a cubensis, golden inverting cap, large hallow stem, and the spores were even purple. But there is no blue bruising. I didn't find mine in pine needles although there was a 150ft pine tree kinda shadowing it. But there was a small runoff coming from a neighboring horse and cow farm/pet sanction type of thing that was flowing next to ware I found it. Any how I have decided that next time I find on of those I'm going to collect the spores and try to cultivate it with a simple PF tek and see if it bruises blue.
