A little helpwith an ID...

i found these while hunting, and I'm interested as to whether they are psychedelic or not. (don't pay attention to the red circle, thats just something extra i was wondering about)

color: light brown, almost white, stalk. Cap is light brown as well, but somewhat darker then the stem. cap seems to have vertical lines the come from the very top.
Spore print: pending
Gills: not attached to stalk.
bruise color: don't know how to tell, but i think that its a dark brown.
location: i found these while mushroom hunting in my local forest in Clarksville TN. found growing in groups on the roots of fallen trees. tree species is unknown. tend to grow in groups.
smell: light smell, but i would assume it smells just as a mushroom should.
size: average about 1/2 inch to about 2 inches.(see photo)
any help you guys could give would be a great help. Thanks in advance!

Hey no.....interesting pic....theres alot goin on there in that one......great effort on you descripts etc......you'd have to get a close up on the little ones but I was thinking maybe blew in from MARS ???......you have what are called "INK CAPS" in the genus COPRINUS......they have black spores and they're not active but in the same family of many that are the COPRINACEAE family...many are poisonous and some CHOICE edibles like this one you may have seen around in lawns or hiking.......

In this hobby I recommend starting with researching the most often occurring mushrooms in your area. Then when something new comes up research it as well. Classes, books, and a 1500X microscope will put you up there with the skills, and style of the pro's.
