Can rye sit in water for 72 hrs and be ok?

Hey. I have been soaking some rye for 72 hours and it smells rank (like the soak-water smell, but stronger)... If i rinse reaally good, should they be alright? Thanks.

If it has not begun to SPROUT & YOU RINSE IT -- VERY WELL.

It should be OKAY.

eh. soaking is a waste, plus boiling it should kill all those smelly germs, and if not, PCing definitely should.
