He rode in my lap all the way home... He wouldn't sit is his own seat. He just had to sleep in my lap.
After a brief tour of the condo and and a quck hello to Shroomism, we played for a while and he did his business outside! What a good boy!!
Now he's all tuckered out and sleeping (and snoring, HOW CUTE!) in his favorite spot...

Hehehe... You don't really want me to stop. You love being overloaded with cuteness.
I wish there were someone here to take pics when he does human-like things like stretching in his sleep. I love this little guy.

Hey, cute puppy man!
How's the whole "Project: Shroomism" thing comin' along anyway? I remember the thread in the Health forum, and you were so gung-ho about it.... and then we didn't hear anything.

Aww.. Don't bring up a sore subject that can't be discussed in public. This is just a puppy thread.

yw
Kitzu is a Belgian "Malinois" Shepard.
They look just like a German Shepard... but they don't have the black in the back like the German Shepards do.
The Belgian is one of the smartest dogs of all breeds... but also one of the most stuborn to break of their bad habbits.
I finally got him to stop chewing stuff up...at around 2 1/2 years old. Hot sauce put onto whatever you caught him chewing on did the trick!~ lolzz
He is very good natured... Very loving and he looks forward to having company come over to visit. Most of my friends he views as his play toys!~ lolzz He never forgets someone...and if time goes by and someone comes back to visit, he remembers them. And he makes this weird yelping noise like he has missed you...its pretty cute.
But he is very much a guard dog...when it gets dark out. Just comes naturally...nothing that I did. Night time salesmen that come to my door...usually turn around and leave after hearing him going nutz inside my house.
oh...and Kitzu is a Chick magnet at the beach!~

Wow.. He sounds like a really cool dog.
And, believe it or not, I thought of the hot sauce thing about two weeks ago... Glad to know it works!
This is the hottest stuff I have... One drop can ruin a whole dish.

No real chewing problems yet... All this pup wants to do is play and sleep.

That would be a hell of a lot easier if I could get him to like his crate! He is way too attached to me.
I don't know how to make him feel safe and secure in his crate.

I used a stuffed animal so that Kitzu wouldn't cry and be upset in his crate.
Find Shane a cool stuffed animal and let him play with it for a few days... then put the stuffed animal in the crate with him...and see how it goes.
good luck!~

Wow.. You're a fountain of knowledge today!
That just might work. I was really hoping he'd just take to it quickly... I even got Canine Comfort Pheromones... problem is, I sprayed 'em on me when I went to get him.

Labs are people dogs. He will constantly want to be around you, even if you crate train him, and should only be confined to his crate if he needs a time out, or if you're not home. You just got him home what, 4 hours ago? I'd chill on the crate training for now, be glad that he likes you, and let him get acclimated to you as well as his new home. This is a big move for him, and probably very stressful. I don't think there's such thing as a dog being "too attached" to you. I'm pretty sure you said you were looking for a constant companion, and with a Lab, you'll certainly get that, whether you want it or not. Have some patience with the pup, get him used to sleeping in the crate at night, and he'll grow to like it as long as it's comfortable. Also, you might want to put his food and water bowls in there, so that he gets used to going in and out of it more. That's where Lucy's are.
