the darker it is the more spores there are.

you can take your dark syringe (earthstongue right?) and make several other lighter syringe using sterile water with a drop or two of jet dry in it.
Vendors have done extensive testing for dark vs. crystal and have concluded they are both the same. No faster or stronger or whatever.
so why not make more out of what you have.
You have billions of spores there, allow them to live out their full potential!!

monstermitch that is one way to conserve, another would be to use much less solution when inoculating, more spores % by volume=less volume you need to use to inoculate with the same results

yeah, but the dilution will stretch it 100 times further, and less will only get you a few times more.
I'd go with the dilution. I do it and it rules!
I have a whole gallon I made from 5cc's and it rocks the house!

I hear you...
okay I will amend...
use your dark syringe. make jars of mycelium using sparse injections. save 1ml or so, better yet save nothing. once the syringe is empty don't discard it or re-use it yet.
take a lid and make a 1/8" hole in it. scuf up the metal on both sides of the lid around the hole. use rtv high temp silicone to make a self-healing injection port. place this lid (once dried for 24 hours) on a jar that is filled 90% with distilled water and has 2 drops of jet dry. place the lid on upside down like you're told to no longer do with the pf tek. secure LOOSELY with ring, cover with foil tight, and pressure cook. I go 15 psi. for 45 minutes with water. open pc once pressure slowly subsides but when pc is still quite warm. tighten the bands on the water jars.
now you have sterile water in a jar with a self-healing injection/aspiration port.
fill the syringe with with sterile water and re-use as if it was a new syringe. If you're feeling lucky you can just rinse the syringe into the jar several times and maybe now the whole jar will be viable as a spore solution, depending.

i like the dilution idea. i have plenty of traning in how to use sterile technique ,and not contaminate. thank you both for the input.

or you can just make up an batch of LC solution and sterilise. then onceoll suck it up into that spent syringe. there is enough spores in there to get you back to 10 cc of LC which you can use to make more jars and another LC. haha. does take a little longer to grow since you don't have gas exchange and you might want to stuck up some sterilised air from a flame a few times to get some more o2 in there.

once you start innoculating your bulk substrate straight from lc and skipping grain spawn you'll want to move up to 140cc syringes.
