It was colonizing well, except for the center. Then all of a sudden....BAM!! green spores everywhere. Can I salvage this really expensive horse shit?

luckily it was isolated from my other bulk tray going. I am worried about the other one, though. Should I douse it with some peroxide?

if you put a layer of spawn on top, it'll help both with colonization times and contam resistance.

peroxide has never killed green in my house, only bleach.
I have saved a few bulk grows with bleach before, but none with peroxide.
Unless it's cobweb, but peroxide kills cobweb every time.
I have one bulk grow right now that was hit with green and saved with bleach. Bleach will kill everything it touches, so be careful and only use it if the green spreads.
That casing is toast in my opinion. Just keep your eye on the other one and start cleaning. Remember lysol around shrooms makes weird and special children

the same way you throw out anything anywhere... in a garbage bag. you really think anybody rummaging through your trash is going to closely inspect a moldy pile of shit and have any clue what it is?

bury it in your yard or wherever : : it's organic, not littering. Or just go find some dumpster behind a business and toss, there are not shrooms on that anyway, so no one will be the wiser.

Good call...well i just sprayed some H2O2 on it and then some bleach...it aint organic anymore. Dont know why I did it....thought that there's a slight chance in hell that it could work. Anyways...the mean grean started melting...afterwards, though, I'm sure it will come back...how long should I wait to put it in the FC...or would you avoid that completely?

are you suggesting that you put that moldy thing back in the fruiting chamber?
bleach will cause the green to melt and die. everything else (mycelium) too.
clean man, clean.
dispose of the moldy crap and move on.

I did. I am cleaning. I sprayed 10% solution everywhere in my fc. and on it. Now I am letting it air dry. Soon I will wipe it down with rubbing alcohol twice...letting it dry each time. I am cleaning all of the casing containers that were in the fc when the small breakout happened. Plus I sprayed H2o2 concentrated on all of the mycelium that was in those containers. I am cleaning out the TIT...I am mopping the floor around the closet area...I changed my clothes and took a shower. I put my dirty clothing in another room.
Am I missing anything?
Oh and I will make a seperate FC for contams...kind of like a lepor colony. That's where I will put that tray of horse shit.

seperate fc for contams huh?
sounds like you want the contams to keep on fruiting.
giving up is hard to do isn't it?
never intentionally place any contam in a fruiting chamber.
leper colony or not.
If you have some substrate that had a contam that you removed and you're unsure if the "saved" substrate/casing is okay or not.... that can go into a leper fruiting chamber.
as for cleaning... you are going like a coke head, perfect.
very diligent and working hard to fight contams.
good job to you.

"as for cleaning... you are going like a coke head, perfect."
Couldn't agree with you more
Oh, and yes, if you put that thing any place in your house and let it grow, you are jeopardizing everything, and infact, you may successfully introduce contams into the home- it could find hard to get at places in the home (leaky pipe in a wall) and stay for good to where you'll not be able to grow anything without contams. Okay, maybe that's a bit excessive... but it could happen! Don't want to take ANY chances. good luck

Yea, I was going to say that. Bleach will only kill mold spores. Fungi mycelium is very resistant to bleach. Lots of disinformation/bad advice going on around here lately. People really, REALLY need to get a few grows under their belts before advising others. New folks want to take the advice given, and if the advice is bad, they can get their projects ruined for nothing. RR

I suggest you barie it because if you put it in the dumpster its going to only feed on the garbage. And if you got green shit taking off in your dumpster then your going to have allot of pissed off people complaining about back, neck, and head eaks. Not only that but the clumsy dumbasses that some how got there drivers licenses are probably going to get clumsier and crash into the telephone pole going through the windshield and taking out your cable TV.

Ohh and if you just want to kill all the mold but keep the the remains I suggest using golden bond foot powder. Put and entire thing of golden bond on the surface of your experiment and mist it lightly. Let it dry and label it "A true fuckup!" and place it on your trofe shelf.

It looks to not even be effective at that from recent reports on the matter.
