ok, my source of poo i got locally has deplenished to where he only has dirt like compost which is pretty much dead.
so i ordered some mycosupply poo, but after reading up on it, i found no one has had great turnout with this product :-(
so i may use tenn studd instead... IF i ever get a responce to my emails on shipping prices ( ive emailed them twice from their site )
what i need is the volume of DRY BASIC i need for app. 14' x 12' x 4" ( without spawn )
i figured right at three of their 20 lbs bags ( dry) would this suffice?

You may be waiting awhile for that reply. I emailed them 6 days ago on a 3 week old order and still no word back. I wonder if he's on vacation or super busy? Most people only have great things to say about him, I wonder what gives?

lets do the math. 12'x14'x.3' = about 56 cubic feet.
according to their website a 5 ib bag will fill a 12x12 container 4 inches. so it would take three of these to make a cubic foot. that's 15 ibs per cubic foot times 56 which comes to 840 ibs of dry stuff to fill said volume before hydrating. i don't think hydrating hpoo really adds to the volume though so you're still talking about a lot of poo.
someone please correct me because this seems ridiculous.

A standard commercial tray is 2' x 4' x 4" or 8 square feet. at 14' x 12', that would be 21 trays (168 sq. ft.) at 5lbs./sq.ft. you'll need 840 lbs dry, so that math is correct. You might want to consider a 1:5 manure to straw ratio. And... you'll still need over 160 lbs of shit.

Thats 5 lbs wet poo per square foot I'd say (thats how much I do).. So it would be more like 810 wet pounds of shit..but thats not counting say 30% of that being verm (or a verm coir mix) and 20% being spawn. So thats only half straight wet horse poo..405 lbs. Assuming a 70% moisture content or so, its more like 280 dry pounds of straight horse poo. I guess you could throw straw in too, but I dislike straw.

I apologize about recent delays. It's been extremely busy and very rainy around here lately. This is not a good combination in this business. I've been spending allot of time driving around looking for the driest product possible, getting it processed, packaged and shipped. As a matter of fact I just had to run outside and cover up product that was drying due to an unexpected shower, I'm literally wet while I'm writing this. I really haven't had much time for the enormous amount of emails I receive. I apologize about any inconvenience and you can rest assured I am doing everything in my power to get orders out as quickly as possible.
