right before primordia/pinning, it'll form a hyphal knot. which, in appearance, is a small, raised, brighter than the rest of the mass, pimple of sorts. http://www.shroomery.org/index.php/par/23405 there is a jar in that picture with hyphal knots. after a hyphal knot, comes primordia, which, as far as most are concerned, is the pinning. in your case, of strands standing on the casing, sounds like your casing is still in vegetative state. meaning that its still seeking water/nutrients, and wants to grow, not reproduce.

hows the humidity? you need to correlate all three of the major pinning factors at the same time: temp, humidity, and air exchange. ...and even then, you might just have to wait for it to fruit on its own. and as for yours, its still normal, it might just be an aggressive strain that doesn't want to stop vegging, or one that fruits late, and has yet to enter into pinning stage. just have patience, keep up the regimen of temp/humidity/fae, and I'm sure it'll fruit.

that humidity will work for casings, from others experiences. though, if your casing is being picky, could try lowering it down to 80ish. gotta remember that the casing layer is also generating its own micro-climate of humidity, so its own plus yours, could be too much. all in all, id say, give it a couple more days, and assuming its the same, start trying to change the pinning strategy modifiers a bit.

That's my 3rd time ever seeing that. I can't really tell you why because I don't remeber if the other two guys found out either.
Their's only progressed (got longer and such).
My guess is that it's a strain that just happens to want to staty

interesting.. at first i thought it was just overly aggressive myc growth, even from the pics i thought so. but i guess not, sounds like a mutation of a bad phenotype from what you say gnostic.

you should lower your humidety... it looks much too wet in there! and stop misting (if you are) at least for a couple of days to allow the casing to breath a little...
what's your FAE delivery like?

This happened to me too.
Don't be too alarmed.
Drop your temperature. 78 is too high for your strain.
Go down to around 73.
Never had it quite that bad though...
