I wish I had a pic of this thing, it's almost scary.

A pin grew up without a cap. when noticed, it was decided to just let it grow and see what happens. Well, it grew and grew, and then it formed gills all over the end; where the cap should have been. That's crazy!
Also, noticed a shroomie that grew a cap, and then grew a second stem from the side of the cap!

What causes mutation like that?

i dont' know what causes them... but i've had a number of ones that grew without stems... i had one literally grow upside down... as in it started with the cap...
they make interesting objects to see.

ever see the fake icicles that are twisted? one of my little guys looked like that. freak must have been twisting in circles as he grew.
