I am planning on doing a Grain to grain transfer soon with a 100% colonised grain jar. I will be useing it to colonise 7 grain jars. I have no glove box or anything. Is it really risky to do this is open air or will it be 50 50? I just want 3 of the 7 grain jars to survive.

no you will most certain have 100% failure. just make a ghetto GB. all mine is is a cardboard box with the top cut off and replaced with plastic wrap so i can see. then i have a flap cut that i can open to put stuff in and close again. doesn't have to be perfectly sealed. the roughish edge holds it closed. then i have 2 arm holes. i just to just jam my forarms right in washed of course. eventually i made is slightly less ghetto with some sleeves made of simple trash bags duck taped to make a tupe then gloves taped to the end of that. just easyer this way not having to wash my hands and arms as well. wipe down everything that enters and if you want you can spray some oust.
all this should cost you no money and mayeb 30 mins to construct.
good luck

people have done it before, tips:
make sure the air is dead. No movement at all.
spray the air with water, a fair amount, and let it settle spray the air with oust, a fair amount, and let it settle spray your surfaces with lysol, give it a minute while you loosen all of the bands up. open one at a time and be very fast and smooth.
It has worked for others, but personally I don't suggest it.
A glove box is worth far more than it costs. Just those four jars you are willing to give to contams just this one time would compensate for a glove box over and over again.
