Any down-sides to my setup??

I have grown before using a PmP with perlite. The fruits were smaller than i'd hoped i fanned 3-4 times a day, so i dont think it was an isue about FAE, pbrobobly due to thin substrate layer.
Anyway this time i'm goint to get a cool mist and use a little bigger FC(20 gal.), still using perlite. with polyfill 2 in above substrate. Transluscent cover, covered sides to prevent fat asses.
Any down-sides? O great minds of the cultivation board?? i'm a microbe swimming in the minds of greater beings.

For me, I never use perlite and a coolimst, it's one or the other.
With perlite I use automated FAE with air pumps and with the coolmist the FAE is of course taken care of.

no need at all for it. The perlite will offer 95-100% RH. All you need to worry about is keeping the cake moist inside via either dunking and rolling or with distilled water injections.
I believe that dunking and rolling is by far the more common practice.

Will cool-mist will provide enough RH and FAE?? Single PmP but with polyfil Co2 holes.

A cool mist wont give enough RH for cakes.
Cakes don't really produce really large fruits. If you crumble them an case them they will have more moisture available and they may be larger, just a cool-mist is suitable most the time for casings.
Size of fruits can depend on a number of things. Some strains generally don't produce large fruits. But the biggest thing you could change would be to do something like spawn your cakes to horse manure.
Horse manure is widely available to most. To the unfortunate ones you can order it from vendors here at the shroomery. I'd only order dry manure myself. I have done microwave pasteurization in small quantity's that has worked out fine.
I believe horse manure is really the only way to grow. This is because I have found such a substantial increase in not just weight but overall actives because I have found potency to be increased with horse manure.

Yes a coolmist will work for both, but not worth the effort in my book. If you want to use a coolmist for FAE and for RH, I strongly suggest using casings. Crumble your fully colonized cakes and spawn them to a bulk substrate such as poo, compost, or straw, or a mixture of them. Bulk substrates will give you the larger fruits you are after.
You don't have to use bulk, but I suggest it. And if you do or don't I still suggest casing. Cakes will give a minimal flush most of the time, you can perfect the process and have it be fairly good, but I suggest again working with casings. Use your time to perfect casings and you will be further ahead in the long run.

Eaxactly! but if you had a pmp you wouldn't need to fan at all.

i think you will get fatasses even if you try not to get them. sometimes they just happen.
i like the setup you had before with the pmp i just think you should have experimented more with casings and other substrates.

Instead of buying a cool mist, you could use that money to buy dry horse poo and do a double tub. They work great.

Yes, great suggestion. double tek is so effecient and money saving. So liitle investment and such a huge return. In terms of value I rate this one #1, but that is just in my experience. If you're a cultivating mad-woman like hippie chick, you can set up a greenhouse for $40 and totally eclipse what I can do in a double tub for effeciency and production. For you, double tub is the way to go for now becasue there almost no work involved. Give it a go for sure and good luck!
