Dead Voices On Air

I found a new genre of music. Went into the used CD store with SSS the other day. I wanted some creepy, atmospheric ambient music, so i asked the clerk about bands like Skinny Puppy and Throbbing Gristle. Turns out this guy must have the most extensive collection of ambient/industrial noise in town. He turned me on to a band called Dead Voices On Air, and another called Scorn. The albums i bought: DVOA: hafted maul Scorn: Colossus I have DVOA in the player right now. The first sounds broody, enigmatic, stark, and ghostly. The second sounds aggressive, insinuating, and intensely psychedelic. This music really gets under my skin, and I love it. I think its nature may prove a little challenging for use with shrooms, but for MJ it fits the bill most definitely. If you don't know the genre, it doesn't use songs; I have never heard Shpongle, but it sounds similar. The artists use noise, patterns, textured vocals and dubs to insinuate a soundscape. Your mind fills in the visuals. Man! I really like this music.

If you like those bands/artists, you'll like coil: http://www.discogs.com/artist/Coil
I highly recommend this album: http://www.discogs.com/release/59116 they released it under the psuedonym time machines.
also, look for early wax trax records out of chicago: http://www.waxtraxrecords.com
if you buy anything, I highly recommend the black box box set.
later wax trax isnt so great. older the better.

You might think I just got out of prison, but I know nothing about posting or sharing on-line music. We forest crunchies don't trust technology I could only find this bootleg from some guy's personal site. Cleek I hope you enjoy that post from the vacuum-tube era.
[Edit] bi0: Geezis, that album retails for $199 and down! On Amazon it sells at the cheapest for $159! It can't sound that awesome...?

Hum... I have a Mac and no functioning IE. Haven't found a downloadable version, either--looks like since January it's gone off the market. Do you have a way around that?

the mac version of soulseek is soulseeX: http://chris.schleifer.net/ssX/ - go to the download section, download & install.
IE is not necessary. in fact, IE sucks and there's no reason to use it on mac or even on windows.

Excellent One of my favorite albums. Unnatural History is another of my favorites. John's death saddened me.

Isn't FLA going on tour also? I seem to remember reading something about it. I don't really listen to that sort of stuff any more, but I spent a great deal of my youth listening to it.
