I've read and re-read posts and seen and re-seen images of correct mushrooms. However, I'd like an experienced person's advice as it's recommended to take one with you hunting anyway.
Here you go: (I think the dimensions are too large for you guys to have to load on the forums themselves, so if you will please look at them with the links provided.) http://www.fatal-error.org/images/100_0198.JPG http://www.fatal-error.org/images/100_0199.JPG http://www.fatal-error.org/images/100_0200.JPG

I can't really tell a whole lot from just the pictures.. They obviously don't look active though.
It is important that we see the gills (attachment, color, spore print color, etc)
If you want an accurate guess on genus at least, please give us the required info found here:

Habitat: woods, Nashville, TN, USA. Growing *around* dead to almost dead wood, more into wet leaves however. Gills: Attached to the top of the stem. Stem: Dark red, semi-hollow. Cap: On the bigger caps, rather wavy and darkish brown-red in the center, getting lighter towards to edge. On the smaller caps, almost a uniform darkish red. Spore print: Eh? I don't know how to extract this. Smell: Sort of mild

I see at least two different species there, maybe even three.
You should photograph and keep each collection or species separate, so that it makes things easier. With multiple different species in one picture, things can become confusing.
I don't think any are Corts. What's the gill color?
To take a spore print:
