Fruiting grain or bulk substrates in a P.M.P.

Hello all. I've been researching different fruiting chambers, and the poor mans pod seems good, since I have everything I need to make a couple anyways. But I only see it being used for cakes. I was wondering If anybody has had luck using the poor mans pod to fruit rye, or rye spawned bulk substrates?

What's the flaw in this design for rye/bulk? It didnt seem much different from the double tub/monotub designs. Is it a problem with too much humidity, or air exchange? Or the fact that all the air coming in is circulated through water and expanded clay, rather than fresh air?

Can anyone tell me what problem there is using the poor mans pod to fruit rye/bulk? Or is it just untested ground?
