Hi there, having checked this page about sclerotia shrooms
http://www.shroomery.org/index.php/par/23365
I learned I can use p. mexicana to make them. A few quick questions:
1. Rye grass seeds are the usual rye grain i use to make standard cakes?
2. If I use P. mexicana to colonize a cake, can i then case it as I would do with other strains, to get normal mushrooms?
Thx!

rye grass seeds can be found at lowes, home depot, wally world etc...

yeah, you only get one flush with sclerotia, right? ...since you have to break up the substrate to harvest it. but couldn't you use the used colonized substrate to knock up more jars?
i've heard it's also best to use shallow containers instead of the large jars because the sclerotia tends to form and grow better at the tops of the jars where there is good air exchange, and not so good towards the bottom.
