Woot, just got my winter semester grades back

Got a B+, A-, A-, A and an A+ -- GPA of 3.88, highest GPA I think I've ever had (including highschool). Who knew that
- Actually going to every class - Studying - Doing homework - Not putting work-work over school-work (last year I worked 20-30 hours per week + full course load) - Not doing ectasy 2-3 weekends a month (atleast)
could actually lead me to doubling my GPA :P (1st semester last year I had a GPA of 1.9, ouch!)
Pretty sure no one here really cares about how I did at school, I'm just excited/happy that buckling down and putting effort into school this year has actually paid off. Nice to see a row of A's with one B instead of a row of Cs with one F.
edit: Although, the clas I got an A+ in, is the class I only went to twice, was the only class this year I skipped pretty much every one of, but it was an 'I already know everything in this course' -- and the A+ proves it :P

Yep, as much 'fun' as I had last year, I decided to crack down and get focused on school this year, and happy to see that it paid off.

Working hard pays off!
I made the mistake of going to a major 4 year Uni right out of HS. My grades fell to rock bottom and I am still paying for it right now. I've been going to school for nearly 6 years now, and still dont have a 2.5 average, thats how bad I did in the 3 semesters I went to post-HS.
It sucks, but I got a grip of myself, switched several schools, swapped majors(typical), and the past three semesters I have had over a 3.5 average.
While it feels great to do good now, I totally regret going to school right away and blowing my chances at a graduation anytime soon. Shit, at this rate I will be going to school for another 4 years!
So, don't fuck around when in school, crack the books, and quit doing drugs!.......hahaha, yeah right.
But seriously, theres plenty of time to have fun after college, so take this time seriously, or it could fuck you in the end like it has me.

i personally think 4 year college is a little overated.. i think most jobs could be easily taught in 2 years or through some sort of applied job training
i was planning on attending Ohio State for a pharmacy major until i found out that it takes 6-8 years

My school history was something like.
- Went right from highschool to Univ - Went to UofT for 1 year for comp-sci - Winter of 1st semester, I got mono, missed about a month and a half of class - Failed midterms of Calculus and Algebra -- I think I ended up dropping them, I forget actually, - missed exam for Stats, failed stats
Either way, 1st semester of my 1st year ended up in a total clusterfuck, barely made it through the 2nd semester
I decied I didnt want to do CompSci anymore, moved back in with my parents for a summer, transferred to Ryerson for Info Tech Management, so switched schools, switched majors, started over.
Did OK 1st semester, but failed my Stats class (again), did pretty good on my 2nd semester. This was my pre-drug using days, rarely drank, didnt even smoke pot. Dont think I did E for my first time until near the end of 2nd semester, and it didnt really hurt my grades at all.
2nd year comes around, there was a course in year 1 I had dropped which was a pre-req for Finance, I didnt know this, signed up for Finance, school system didnt catch this, I try and struggle through Finance but end up failing it. I went partying in Montreal before the start of midterms, ended up crashing from too many drugs and slept through one exam, so ended up dropping it.
My GPA that year took a shit kicking, two fails on my transcript, few courses dropped to not have them hurt my GPA, got put on probation and was forced to go part time for 1st semester of 3rd year.
Next year, I'm going into my 4th year of a 4year program, but I'll probably need to do a 5th year after that year just to catch up on courses I've dropped/failed or couldnt take because I was part time one semester.
When all is said and done, my univ career will prob end up being dragged out by like, six years -- kinda sucks. But, starting to crack down hard this year, its paid off - done well, going to continue the trend next year and hopefully I'll be able to finish it off in 1 semester in my 5th year instead of having to do it for a full year... who knows, I'll see.
I just wanna get this shit done, all my friends from highschool are graduating this year -- and it still looks like I have another two years to go.

You should have looked up the starting salary of a pharmacist before you made that choice. 6-8 years to be financially set for your entire life. Not a bad deal IMO.
