Your prolly right. My question is, Can you get High off of it !~? ^_^ Ive noticed that jars with excessive moisture (too wet) usually generate it faster or with more abundance. Cake is lookin good Joe.

There is no such thing as myc piss. Let's all use proper terms please and stop the spread of disinformation that confuses the new folks. RR

I would LOVE to know what this yellow substance is called that my mycelium is excreting. My jars are doing it as well, the popcorn - not so much.

They're antibiotic compounds released by the mycelium in response to stress, usually bacteria. You'll see them more often if the substrate is kept too warm, because that encourages bacterial growth, so the mycelium secretes the antibiotic compounds to ward off infection.
The secretions are crystal clear when first released by the mycelium, but yellow with age or after running down the substrate and absorbing whatever material the mycelium is growing on. RR

Here's a few microscope pics of the metabolytes being excreted by the mycelium. Note there is mycelium growing in the metabolyte. RR

That makes sense. In my jars there are a couple small patches here and there which have this pale yellow color, and in other areas I can see this crystal clear stuff up against the glass. I figured it was just water droplets forming due too too much heat in combination with the moisture...
If the mycelium creates it in response to the precense of bacteria....does that mean that any jar which has these yellow areas (metabolic by-products??) is in essence contamed to a lesser extent? And should it not, in that case, be cause for concer when you see this stuff?

Yes. If a jar has a large amount of metabolyte collecting in the bottom, it might be ok to fruit or spawn to manure, but I wouldn't suggest using it for grain to grain transfers. RR

This by-product also occurs most often when jars do not have adequate gas exchange as well as jars incubated too long. Also do not confuse condensed water droplets as metabolic by-products guys, as water droplets are common in jars where water was added (everyone of them!)

Ok so atm I have 3 jars fully colonized and all have a certain amout of metabolye "stains." Stains probably isn't the right terminology but I'm sure you guys understand what I mean.
Im waiting on 4 more jars to be at 100% before spawning them, but the 3 finished ones seem to be slowly collecting more of this metabolyte by the day. Its not drastic or anything, but I do notice it increasing constantly. I was gonna put these 3 jars in the fridge anyway while the others finish off, but what I'd like to know is if placing them in the fridge will also stop/slow down the production of metabolytes??
....cuase you know, when you had these nice fully white jars to begin with (epsecially when they are your first) it kinda hurts to see them getting uglier and uglier.
