rinsing mushrooms, and potency

If i was to give some dried mushrooms a quick rinse before making tea out of them (to wash off any bits of dirt), would it reduce their potency?
just how water-soluble is psilocybin/psilocin?
would rinsing them make them weaker or does psilocybin extraction only occur when the mushrooms are soaked/boiled/simmered? i would assume rinsing them wouldn't reduce the potency, but thought i'd ask cause i'm curious like that
cheers.

i supremely doubt it =)
even if (which it isnt)- youd be better off losing some potency for sanitary purposes (especially for something youre ingesting) - than making tea with crud in it.
I have a friend who is going to make tea from shroom parts I gave him (theyve got hay and little bits of crud stuck to them) and he is going to wash them as well

on reflection, this is a slightly silly question i guess i was mostly just curious how water-soluble psilocybin is, and wanted to know what effect, if any, rinsing the mushrooms would have.
if you were to soak mushrooms in room-temperature water for say, an hour, would this extract the active compounds into the water? just curious.
also, i remember seeing a thread on here somewhere where someone claimed psilocybin is water-soluble but psilocin isn't, so when you make tea you're only getting something like 50% of the active compounds. is there any hard evidence to either back this up or prove it wrong? i'm gonna do a bit of searching, cause tea is my preferred method.

psilocin will not be extracted very efficiently with tea. The 2 major reasons are that it is not neary as water soluble (the phosphate group on psilocybin is very hydrophillic) and psilocin is found in the interior of the mushrooms.

but if you were to make tea and then eat the soggy mushroom matter, you would be getting everything, right?
not that i'd do this, i'd rather just eat the things right from the start than eat the slimy soggy cup-dreggs o_0
