This has been one fine line of fights - quite possibly the best I've seen in Pride, in terms of [mostly] consistent good fights all wrapped up in one fight-card. The only disappointing one was the Aleks vs Barnett fight. Something just wasn't right - but in Barnett's defense, he isn't quite so easy to walk through as many people might think. He's big, likes to press the action, and is a good wrestler. Still, Aleksander Emelianenko should've been able to handle him - if it weren't for his gas-tank issue [one that I've never seen him have before], I'm sure things would've been a bit different. I'd like to see Fedor take Barnett and avenge his brother's lost, a la' CroCop.
Hunt vs TK was awesome, for the simple fact that it was totally what I hoped it would be, yet completely the opposite of what I [and nearly everyone else] had expected it to be. Hunt's 'trade punches' fighting style is always interesting and suspenseful to watch - the man has been reputed to be downright impossible to KO, and he shows that confidence in the ring by his willingness to trade punches until his opponents [as usual] end up dazed and swinging at air - and then finally comes out with the big KO, unless the ref stops it via TKO. I'd like to see Hunt vs Fujita go at it. Both are very heavy hitters, and are dangerous in that respect.
And speaking of Fujita; damn - that fight with James Thompson was something else. I've never seen blood spill on the camera before. James was doing pretty good until he got slightly tagged in the face - and then proceeds to do the next logical thing: trade punches with Fujita. Fujita - the man who nearly KO'ed Fedor himself - a fame which no other can hold a candle to [though Fedor still owned his ass via squeezing Fujita's neck like he intended to pop his head off].

Mirko CroCop vs Minowa: Let's just say, Minowa was fortunate this fight took place in a Japanese-oriented audienced fight-stadium, with civilized rules and a ref who [like everyone else] already knew what was coming. Other than that: Yawn. Next!
Zulu vs Nog. I thought this was going to be rather interesting - and that's the kind of impression a man of Zulu's size would typically give, particularly in consideration of his so-called purple-belt in BJJ. How a man of that behemoth size can even attain such a level, is beyond me - setting aside the possibility that he actually got his purple-belt out of a Cracker Jacker box. At any rate, his performance in this particular fight really adds more fuel to the burning question: How the hell is Zulu a purple-belt BJJ practicioner? He literally GAVE his arm away - and to Nog, of all people, whom is easily considered to be the no. 1 grappler in the world, and was for a long, long time the No. 1 heavyweight in Pride until, of course, the Russian Badass came along.
Overeem vs Werdum - wasn't too sure of what the outcome of this fight was going to be, but not too surprised at the results. Werdum did show an improvement: The willingness or ability to fight standing up; something he sorely lacked a while ago with Sergei Kharitonov, and lost because of it. Overall, good fight.
Yoshida vs Nishijima - Please. I saw this coming before I could even finish reading "Yousuke Nishijima", since I remember Nishi's debut with Hunt. 100% predictable.
And as far Round 2, Pride is letting their audience vote in who gets to fight who, next:
