LSD and repressed memories.

Can anyone point me in the right direction for studies including information on discovering repressed memories using LSD? I hate doctors and psychologists so I think this is my only option for figuring out some things from a rather traumatic childhood. Things I kinda remembered while on shrooms and I need to remember the whole thing. Ive got bits and peices of my childhood and I cant go on missing certain parts. I did abnormal psychology in highschool and I understand the basics involving repressed memories and flooding techniques used for PTSD and similar disorders. Thanks in advance for any information given.

I'm trying to find info for you but am coming up with limited and biased research. I feel, from my reading, that LSD will allow you to recover many repressed memories- but only if you don't force it to do so. I think if you go into the experience with an open mind, you may find what you have been looking for all along.
I realize that is entirely vague and most likely unhelpful, but I wish you the best regardless and will continue to help. Only wish I knew more!!

Same problem I had. Very limited research. Does anyone have an personal experience with repressed memories surfacing while LSD then? Is is more of a common or rare experience? Im not a huge fan of the idea of using chemical drugs. Ive always been on the side of only doing things from nature (shrooms/weed/mescaline) but after I read LSD can bring back repressed memories I knew I had to at least try. Mushrooms helped me realize large gaps in certain memories and I feel like I cant go on until i fill at least some of those. Thank you for your help in trying to find info

Just a suggestion but maybe try looking at yourself, analyze your personality, your strong points and your weak points, for every point you feel stands out, ask yourself why that point's strong or weak for you. Your personality is a reflection of your past, perhaps by tracing back to some of the roots of your personality you'll stumble upon some answers to other questions...

Memory regression like this should only be done under the supervision of a professional, especially under the influence of a mind-altering substance like LSD. Its cool you want to explore, but its really not something you should just do...
Good luck though, i have some books at home on LSD therapy, ill try to dig them up.

About 50% of the time I have very vivid memory regression on LSD, other times I have de ja vu feelings--the origin of these feelings is open to debate but I believe it might just be a memory which has never been "accessed" therefore it seems alien and not really like a memory. But the memory regression potential of LSD, at least for me, is beyond incredible. It can be like watching a DVD of your childhood. This can be good or bad, however. If you were abused, you might inadvertently focus on not-so-pleasant memories. I am not a psychologist but I would recommend not fighting it, accepting it for what it is and try your best to move on to happier memories. It is easy to get stuck in memory "loops". Try to keep your mind moving along, each subsequent trip will build on the last if you practice keeping things moving. You might one day find gaps in a memory and the next the memory is clear as crystal. It's very interesting, nonetheless, and is one of the reasons I find LSD remarkable.

I can't speak for LSD due to lack of experience, but LSA has brought back memories that I had totally forgotten about, and it wasn't just like I remembered them. It was almost like I was there, and I lived through it all over again except it only took the blink of an eye. Something I wish I had known about earlier and intend to explore again. Good luck, and please let me know how it goes!
