Bright yellow myc??**now w/ pics**

I made a post similar to this in the contam forum, but to no avail. My prob is that I noced up a jar of a mysterious spore syringe. Instead of the norm white myc that starts to form I got this brilliant yellow myc. No signs of white what so ever. It seems to be taking over the whole jar and has very similar traits to thatof myc. Is it possible that I have some sort of a different strain that I had not bargained for or is this jar contamed? If needed I will post a pic.

Yellow "myc". No deal!
That pic would be interesting if it really was a brilliant yellow color.

Are you using piss instead of water or what? I really think a post like this needs a picture at the same time.

Here is the best pic I could get w/ my shitty cam. I shole it up a little(which I guess I shouldnt have done....i know) But you can still see a few of the yellow spots that were much more predominent. After I shooke it I did see a little white coming thru though....more than likely some sortof contam.

Mods.....sorry for the wrong forum post

Thats what I thought it was but it is definatly yellow. Does the green meanis usually look yellow? Like I said I shoke the jar before I took the pic which I shouldn't have done. But before that it was definatly a brilliant yellow color. Oh well, maybe I can use that jar as a tax write off.

If your jar gets too hot, you droped it, or it dosnt get enough air, it will turn green.

Droping and shaking are the same thing. Shaking is good just after puting the spores in. But after it starts to grow the shaking will damage the mycela and cause it to die. And when it dies it turns green.

never heard about that crap... you certainly don't know what your talking about, shaking jars is doing very good job if not repeated too much. and myc. doesn't turn green when it dies, it turns green when it get molded... anyway it looks like contam to me... hey but if you don't know what syringe was it it still worth keeping it and see what will grow in there...

Based on the picure, I'd say it's Bacillus. Try to get a clearer pic. RR

I think it is one of two things, either bacillus, which is a bacterial infection due to either high water content or non-germination of endospores usually, or...
With some substrates I get excessive yellowing in points that has been attributed to mycelium waste. I don't believe this to be myc piss at all though... I would go with bacteria, but I need a better picture.
Do not listen to DaveTX, he has but no idea what he is talking about and further he is talking as though he does and spreading bad, bad information to you. Keep up the humility of asking others, but listen to the group, not the individual.
No Smell huh? Bacillus usually will smell like rotting eggs or feet or something. More pics bro, than RR and or I will hook you up with an explaination.

It is also possible that you have a yeast infection The smell will tell but be very careful as some molds will give you a lifetime of respiratory problems believe me!

Yes, molds can screw with you big time! Safety first, always safety first. A yeast infection? That's great.
