Beautiful !
Do you know how many females you have?

from the looks of it those plants are too young to be sexed.

yes, the plants are too young to be sexed, as i have no growlight. just wondering tho, i read somewhere that males are usually bigger than the females at the beginning, does this mean as a seedling or as a young plant. because i started from bagseed, but i had alot of it and i intend on saving my own seed this year, so i eliminated all the 'weaker' looking sprouts and young plants, to be left with a more vigorous gene pool. in doing so, is it likely that i eliminated the majority of my females? gracias.

Don't go by the size of the plant. You cant tell sex until sex is shown by the plant. When a woman is pregnant you cant tell the sex of the baby by the size!! You have to wait till the sex shows Eliminating weak looking plants (not slow or small, but weak) Is a good idea for indoor gardens, but outdoors since you have more room you should just leave em until ya sex em.

In all of my expierences, males tend to be taller. In the begining stages, males will stretch after the first node. Then they'll usually grow out normally.
Males have that one growth spurt so that they are taller and can spread their seed more effectively.
But this doesn't mean you killed all of your females. Just expect half your crop to be males.

you cant determine the sex of a marijuana plant until it begins to flower. that is the only way unless you have a female clone or feminized seeds. and with fem seeds they could have hermaphroditic qualities so you may get some lil underdeveloped seeds.

actually you can sex the plants before the flowering period, this is especially true if you have access to a 15x loupe. It still requires the plant to be just entering the preflower phase tho.
I think sex is pretty much indeterminable until about the 1 month veg mark, you can also force flower your plants to determine sex earlier but this affects your end yield.

The plant is somewhat IN its flowering period at that point. They are trying to say that you can tell the sex without seeing the sexual characteristics. Which is not feasible

well its been another week or so, heres an update. this plant has been topped and tied down these ones just topped
 untouched

also, wondering how big they can get (5 gallon buckets) before i need to worry about whatever people worry about, rootbound plants, i think. if i keep applying foliar fertilizer and watering them, will they survive? or should i prune them back to keep them healthier? thanks

Or, you could just remove the ball sacks to stop any pollinating!
